The plugin follows your Localazy project role, so people only see the actions they’re allowed to use. Reviewers, for example, can open the plugin to download translations and check them in context, without the risk of changing your source text.
Who can do what #️⃣
| Your project role | In the plugin |
|---|---|
| Owner or Manager | Full access. Upload text, download translations, screenshots, and everything else. |
| Reviewer | Download only. Pull translations into Figma to review them in context. |
| Translator and below | No plugin access. These roles work in the Localazy web app instead. |
Not sure about roles? See Project roles.
What download-only looks like #️⃣
If you’re a Reviewer, the plugin opens on the Download tab and you have what you need to review:
- Download and Find Node work as usual.
- Upload and Connect are visible but greyed out. Hover over either one to see why.
- Upload-only options in Settings are read-only.
This keeps the review flow simple, and it means you can’t change your project’s source text by clicking Upload by accident.
You still need a Figma editor seat #️⃣
Downloading writes translated text onto the canvas, which counts as an edit, so the plugin needs an editor seat in Figma. Figma doesn’t let plugins run for viewers, so a view-only seat won’t work. That part is a Figma limitation and has nothing to do with your Localazy role.
Changing someone’s role #️⃣
Owners and Managers can change roles on the Contributors page in Localazy. See Project roles for what each role can do.
