What is back translation and how does Localazy use it?

Back translation (also called backward machine translation or reverse translation) is a quality verification method where translated text is automatically translated back into the source language. Localazy includes built-in backward machine translation in its review interface, allowing you to verify translations even in languages you don’t speak.

When reviewing translations, you can access the back-translated version through a dropdown in the target language field. This helps you quickly spot potential mistranslations, context mismatches, or meaning shifts without needing fluency in the target language.
